Does Keeping The Electric Car Air Conditioning On Have Any Impact On The Car?

Leave a message

The continuous use of electric vehicle air conditioning has a certain impact on the car, mainly reflected in the following aspects:
1. Battery life: Turning on and off the air conditioner consumes power, and the internal chemical reaction of the battery slows down at low temperatures. Frequent start stop of the air conditioner will increase battery energy loss. Long term operation of the air conditioner increases the burden on the motor, causing components to work under high voltage for a long time, accelerating aging and wear, and shortening the service life of the vehicle.
2. Energy consumption and range: Even in energy-saving mode, electric vehicle air conditioning still consumes electricity, with pure electric vehicle air conditioning accounting for about 5% of the total electricity consumption. Long term operation wastes more electricity. Actual tests have shown that frequent activation of air conditioning can reduce the range of electric vehicles. For example, when a certain car is running normally and the air conditioning is turned on once per hour, the range is reduced by about 0.4 kilometers.
3. Comfort to energy efficiency ratio: Under extreme weather conditions, the air conditioning performance of electric cars is not as good as that of gasoline cars. Long term use of air conditioning during cold weather can cause discomfort for drivers; Prolonged cooling during hot weather may cause the air conditioner to become overworked, affecting battery life and comfort. In the long run, there is still room for improving the energy efficiency ratio of the current tram air conditioning system.
4. System burden: Some air conditioning and cooling systems in electric vehicles require energy to operate, and prolonged use can increase the load on the vehicle system, leading to increased wear and tear on related components. Meanwhile, the continuous operation of the cooling system to maintain the temperature inside the vehicle may increase its burden, causing overheating or component damage.
