What are the main types of forklift batteries?

1. Lead acid battery: This is the most widely used type of forklift battery with a long history, mainly used as a starting power source for internal combustion engine vehicles.

2. Nickel cadmium batteries: Their widespread use is second only to lead-acid batteries, with advantages such as high specific energy, high specific power, fast charging, and long cycle life, but they are relatively expensive.

3. Nickel hydrogen battery: As a type of alkaline battery, its characteristics are similar to nickel cadmium batteries, but it does not contain heavy metals such as cadmium and copper, so there is no problem of heavy metal pollution.

4. Sodium sulfur battery: Although it has been favored as an electric vehicle battery recently, it has problems such as severe high-temperature corrosion, short battery life, poor performance stability and safety, so its application in forklift batteries is not widespread.

5. Zinc air battery: It has a high potential specific energy, but currently has disadvantages such as short lifespan, low specific power, difficulty in outputting high current, and inability to charge, which limits its application in the field of forklift batteries.

6. Flywheel battery: This is a new concept battery that achieves energy storage through physical methods, breaking through the limitations of chemical batteries, but its application in forklift batteries is still in the exploratory stage.

7. Fuel cell: This is a power generation device that directly converts chemical energy stored in fuel and oxidizer into electrical energy without undergoing a thermal process. It has high energy conversion efficiency, but its application in forklift batteries is relatively limited.
